EARNING RANK

Earn Your Stripes recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of intense cardio-respiratory activity or an equivalent combination of moderate and intense activity.

EYS Ranks are based on these recommendations and reward your training continuity, making you progress on a scale with 20 levels.

You need 2000 UPPs every month to maintain your current level and progress to the next level. 2000 monthly UPPs roughly corresponds to the duration and intensity recommendations from EYS.

UPPs are points that you earn while working out.  Our system factors in multiple data points like Watts, Functional Threshold Power (FTP), Kcals and Demographic Profile information when determining your intensity level.

You earn UPPs every time you train with EYS by monitoring your heart rate. The speed at which you generate UPPs depends on your training intensity; the harder you work out, the more points you receive. Be careful though: EYS rewards intensive training, but not over-training!

The EYS Rank Structure rewards continuity and perseverance when exercising. If you don’t keep your monthly UPP amount you might get demoted!

  • If you don’t reach 2000 UPPs in one of the months necessary for the next rank, you keep your current rank; BUT you revert back one month to continue your progression.

Yes! If you have a valid reason to pause your progression we will annotate your account to allow you the proper time to achieve the desired result. Examples of valid reasons include:

  • Injury/recovery time

  • Extended vacation

  • Extended illness
